ACHD met with the public on Wednesday evening to discuss whether or not to add medians on Fairview Avenue from Orchard Street to Linder Road. ACHD claims that the medians will improve traffic safety, but the business owners in the area are concerned that the medians will hurt business. Raised medians would restrict access to the businesses. Also brought up in the meeting was how the raised medians would block passage for emergency vehicles when they need to use the center lane.

Commissioners voted to pass the Fairview Avenue Corridor Access Plan which will change the lights and signs as well as fix potholes and ruts. Once the changes have been made, ACHD will go over the safety conditions and if they have not improved they will vote on whether or not to add the raised medians.
