Just in time for the holidays, Meridian Police are warning the public that another phone scam is underway in the Treasure Valley.  The latest involves scammers claiming to be members of the United States Marshal Service.  If you get a phone call from someone claiming that you owe unpaid fines and you need to pay with pre-paid credit cards, hang up immediately and contact your local police agency.

The Meridian Police Department would like to remind you that no government agency would contact you to collect fines, bills, etc with unpaid credit cards.

CrimeStoppers is waiting for your phone call if you have any question or have any information that could lead to apprehension and arrests of these perpetrators.  All tips to CrimeStoppers remain anonymous and a felony arrest could lead to an award of 1,000.00.
