Having trouble making it to Ash Wednesday?  Find out where you can get your ashes in Meridian.

Today is “Ash Wednesday” marking the beginning of Lent for Christians around the world and the people at Holy Apostles Catholic Church are taking this message to the streets in Meridian by giving “Ashes-to-Go.”

They’ll be on the sidewalk near Kleiner Park where you can receive ashes on your forehead and a prayer to help you jumpstart your spiritual preparation for Easter.  You don’t even have to get out of your car.

Stop by and see them between 9:30 am and 5:00 pm today.

According to Mary Wax, RCIA Coordinator at Holy Apostles, “Ashes-to-Go is about bringing the important traditions of the Christian faith out from the church walls and into the places we need them every day.  As people get busier and busier, we need the church in new and non-traditional ways.”

Holy Apostles Catholic Church is sponsoring this effort and is the largest Catholic Parish in Idaho.  Their church is located at the corner of Chinden and Meridian Roads in Meridian.
