Another avalanche has blocked part of Idaho State Highway 21, 27 miles north of Lowman. The slide happened in "Avalanche Alley" two miles beyond the Canyon Creek Bridge, just past Grandjean Road. The debris is up to 50-feet deep and includes broken trees, bushes, and rocks.

Reed Hollinshead with ITD says the avalanche came down a slide path not yet documented by ITD. Workers are expected to clean up the massive snow and debris pile in the next few days after dangerous avalanche conditions subside.
Vehicles are required to take an alternate route by driving US Highway 20 to State Highway 75 in order to bypass the closed section. The roadway was closed to traffic at the time.
