It hurts to admit, but the possibility of an active shooter situation is very much real in 2018. The Boise Police Department is doing their part to ensure you stay safe. The best part about training? It's free!

Here's the deal. BPD is offering an "Active Shooter Response Training" course, for both businesses and individuals, on May 29th. The event will take place at Boise Police Department City Hall West at 2 p.m. BPD says the event will take about 90 minutes. While it is currently fully booked, they plan on offering similar courses down the road.

What can you hope to take away from the training? BPD elaborates in a Facebook post:

Active shooter incidents are often unpredictable and develop rapidly. The Boise Police Department wants to help educate and prepare community members should an active shooter situation arise at their place of work, worship or recreation.

Join us Tuesday, May 29th 2018 at 2:00p.m. at the Boise Police Department Headquarters to learn the warning signs and steps you can take to survive an active shooter situation.

BPD is encouraging individuals and businesses to contact Stephanie Kendall with any questions at 570-6073.
