Church Plans AR-15 Blessing Ceremony

A church in Pennsylvania will conduct a blessing like ceremony for the AR-15 Rifle Wednesday.    Participants in the ceremony are called upon to bring their weapons they'll use to defend themselves which includes the AR-15 reports the several media outlets.  Guns.com says the couples will be blessed not their weapons, however they're expected to bring an AR-15 or AK-47 to church.

The World Peace and Unification Church is the organization that will be holding the ceremony.  Over 600 participants are expected to attend the ceremony.  The church is also planning Thank You President Trump dinner, according to WTXL Television.

One local school is so concerned about the ceremony that they've cancelled classes for Wednesday.  The Hill says that students from the  Wallenpaupack Area School District will be taken to another school several miles away.

Ceremony has been planned for several months prior to the shooting in Parkland, Florida.  The event is expected to draw several hundred people from all over the world.
