Inside Colin Cowherd’s new gig.  He’s brash, outrageous, and outspoken, and he’s coming to Fox Sports.  Former ESPN Talk Host Colin Cowherd made it official today by agreeing to a multi-platform deal with Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports Radio.  Cowherd was removed from his popular ESPN Radio show last month when he made a few controversial remarks involving MLB Players from the Dominican Republic.

Cowherd revealed the details of his new four-year deal with Fox to the Hollywood Reporter.   Fox will launch Cowherd’s radio show in September in the 12-3pm Eastern Time Slot.  He’ll be competing against talk giants Rush Limbaugh and Jim Rome.

Cowherd’s departure leaves ESPN Radio in a flux considering their only anchor show is Mike and Mike.  Recently Scott Van Pelt left to expanded TV duties, and Dan Le Batard has failed to catch on in afternoons.  Popular Radio Host Jim Rome left ESPN a few years ago to join the fledgling CBS Sports Radio.  His audience has not transferred to the lesser known network.

Cowherd announced he’ll be hosting the Fox Pre-Pre NFL Show on Fox Network during the football season.  The herd expects to host a nightly television show on Fox Sports 1.  He told the Hollywood Reporter that a few political networks showed interest in his show. However, he wanted to remain true to his sports roots.  Cowherd believes political talk is too mean, and he’s a nice, funny guy.

Perhaps the nice guy will finish first?  Regardless of whether you like or hate him, Colin Cowherd is one outrageous act that you can’t ignore.
