Detours Near Firebird Raceway Due To Fatal Crash

Ada county and Idaho State police will detour you onto side roads between Emmett and Eagle this morning due to a fatal crash on Highway 16. A car hit a horse that was loose in the area . Ada County Sheriff's Deputies say the second vehicle veered off the highway and rolled. We're told the occupants have been transported to an area hospital.
Law enforcement officials have closed down that portion of the highway. A detour is available for drivers via a nearby dirt road.
The highway is expected to be closed for the next few hours.
