Idaho State Police say 18 year old Holden Falk of Emmett drifted into oncoming traffic on State Street and hit an Ada County Sheriff's patrol car head-on. Falk and the deputy, identified by ISP only as Deputy Fratusco, were injured in the crash. ISP Trooper Kenny Walker said Fratusco suffered minor injuries, and was treated and released.
Falk's injuries appeared more serious.
Walker said Falk told police he fell asleep behind the wheel just before the crash happened. Fratusco, who did not have his emergency lights or siren on, attempted to get out of the way but could not avoid the collision,
State Street was blocked at Seneca Springs Way for about two hours.
