After the release of Bowe Bergdahl from Afganistan, threats against the family have been coming in to his parents Bob and Jani Bergdahl. Those threats are now being investigated by federal, state and local authorities.
William Facer, a spokesman for the FBI's Salt Lake City division, said in a statement: "The FBI continues to monitor the situation in Hailey, Idaho. We are working jointly with our state and local partners and taking each threat seriously."
On Wednesday, The members of the community of Hailey canceled plans for a welcome-home celebration, saying security concerns over the prospect of big crowds both for and against the soldier were more than the town could manage.
The town of 8,000 has been swamped with hate mail and angry phone calls over the Bergdahl’s.
