The Walker Fire continues to spread this morning. Evacuations are in place between the backside of Bogus Basin Mountain and Grimes Creek.

Standby evacuations are only for residences on Macks Creek Road and campsites along Grimes Creek Road. Around 6 homes were evacuated Saturday night and police say they will use reverse 911 or go door-to-door if there are further evacuations.

Grimes Creek Road from Highway 21 to Centerville is closed to all non-emergency traffic.

The fire started around 3:30 p.m. Saturday and as of Sunday at 12:30 p.m., it was estimated to be 2,500 acres.

4 structures have been destroyed, but specifics have not been released yet.

Officials believe the fire is human-caused and high winds caused the fire to spread overnight.
