State water supply specialist Ron Abramovich shared positive news for Idaho farmers and irrigators. Southwest Idaho should start the season with plenty of water. Across Idaho precipitation for February was above to well-above average. The abundant mountain snowfall, along with cool temperatures to maintain the snowpack, provided a boost to this year's water supply forecast.
The basins in Eastern Idaho have the highest snowpacks in the state. The Owyhee Mountains and Camas Prarie area near Fairfield are below average.
