A hunter from out of state crawled for days after breaking his leg in central Idaho is recovering in a Boise hospital today.
Family members say John Sain, who is from Riverside California was tracking an elk by himself in a remote mountain area near McCall when he slipped between two logs and broke his leg. Slain was not able to walk and had to drag himself out of the wilderness to get help. Fish and Game reminds hunters that as we approach the general deer hunt season in October, to always let someone know where you are going and a time frame as to when you are going to be back.
