Idaho Wildlife officials have shut down a camping area after a 60-year-old woman woke up to her entire foot inside a bear's mouth.

The woman's name has not been released and fortunately the bear did no damage other than a pretty good scare.  The bear ran off when the woman's friends screamed and yelled.  No damage to the foot or any part of the woman, just bear saliva all over her sleeping bag.

It happened about 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday in the Sawtooth National Forest.  This is the 2nd time the same bear has been reported seen at the campground within just a few days so authorities have shut things down to keep campers safe.  All camping along Forest Road 146 and 452 in the Sawtooth National Forest, including the Murdock and Caribou Campgrounds have been suspended.

Traps have been set and officials say the campgrounds will most likely stay closed until the bear is caught.  Backpacking and hiking is still being allowed.  Please be "Bear Aware" if you plan on doing any type of daytime activities in these areas.  Stay alert, keep food packed away, and carry some bear spray for emergencies.
