A panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has upheld a federal judges ruling in January last year that St. Luke's Health System broke antitrust laws when it bought Saltzer Medical Group in 2012.
The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals says that U.S. District Judge B. Lynn Winmill properly weighed testimony and findings of fact in the case, that the focus on the health care market in Nampa was proper, and that Winmill's decision to reverse the sale was justified.
Beth Toal, with St. Luke's Health System, said the hospital has not had a chance to review the decision or make a decision on a future appeal.
