The Detroit Lions have cut former Boise State Quarterback Kellen Moore.  The Lions have decided to go with just two quarterbacks this year reports the Detroit Free Press.  Moore was an un-drafted free agent who’s intelligence earned him respect from many around the NFL.  Injuries and the performance of Lions number two Dan Orlovsky are some of the key reasons detailed for Moore not making the squad.  The Lions have usually kept three quarterbacks in past seasons.

Moore had just signed a two year extension with the Lions last March.  He was guaranteed over 300,000 from the deal.  Kellen could make the squad as a member of the taxi squad.  The Lion will make that announcement Sunday at noon.  Moore has plenty of options if he doesn’t resign with the Lions.  He could be picked up by his old coach in Dallas or we could see him on the Boise State or Washington Coaching Staffs.
