NAMPA -- A southwest Idaho woman has pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter in the shooting death of a 59-year-old man at his rural Nampa residence.
The Idaho Press-Tribune reports in a story on Saturday that 34-year-old Nicole Lee Kirtley of Melba also pleaded guilty to possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and destruction of evidence.
Authorities in February found George Richardson Jr. dead with multiple gunshot wounds, and Kirtley was taken into custody shortly after.
As part of the deal, prosecutors agreed to drop second-degree murder and recommend a 15-year prison sentence with nine years fixed.
Authorities say Kirtley killed Richardson and stole his Jeep Wrangler, which was later found partially submerged in the Snake River two miles from Kirtley's home.
Sentencing is set for April 1.
