Meridian is the Best Place to Live in Idaho
Meridian is one of the fastest growing cities in America, and it's been named the best place to live in Idaho. But what if the population grows by 98 percent in the next 30 years? Can the Treasure Valley handle it?
TIME Magazine looked at cities across America and came up with the best place to live in every state, and Meridian is the top pick in Idaho. Nice work, Warriors.
The community development folks are planning for a 98% population increase over the next 30 years, according to TIME, and the Meridian job market is supposed to grow by over 9 percent between now and 2021. Prepare yourself for more booming. Household income is already above the state median in Meridian, and houses are affordable with median home prices just under $245,000.
So much for keeping it a secret. If the population really does boom by 98 percent by 2048, what will the Treasure Valley look like? We may have a whole bunch of new friends and new places to eat and shop, but we may also be putting up with more traffic congestion and higher home prices.
City planners will keep an eye on all of that. For now, congrats Meridian, on being the best place to live in the Treasure Valley.
Other "best places to live" include Bozeman, Montana; Beaverton, Oregon; and Mercer Island, Washington.
