24 year old Allen Duane Newman of Wyoming is in jail hours after police say he robbed a Jackson's in Garden City armed with a handgun.

Police say Newman entered the store in the 9500 block of Chinden Boulevard just before 2 a.m. Saturday, running from the store with a small amount of money.
During the investigation, police recognized Newman in surveillance photos. One officer told investigators he had contact with Newman on Friday after responding to a prowler report in the 5400 block of Millstream Way.
Newman is charged with possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and armed robbery, all felonies. He's also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, a misdemeanor.

Police in Garden City wants your help to find the man who robbed the Jackson’s in Garden City.
Police say the suspect entered the store in the 9500 block of Chinden Boulevard just before 2 a.m. Saturday, showed a handgun, demanded cash and then ran off with an unknown amount of money.
Police say the suspect is a white man, between 30-40 years old. Between 5'8" to 6'0" tall. He has a thin build, bald, and a short beard. In surveillance photos he was wearing a brown shirt and dark colored pants.
