Smoke Detector Wakes Meridian Woman

A Meridian woman woke up to hear smoke detector going off and a fire that started in the garage spread to the house. Officials say the fire started in a car inside the garage just before 7 am Tuesday in the 900 block of 13th Street in Meridian.
Firefighters say 30 percent of the house was damaged and the garage was a total loss but, no one was injured in the blaze.
