The Treasure Valley continues to cope with record snowfall.  After braving the roads, most are greeted with the task of clearing driveways and sidewalks.  Here's how to shovel the snow safely.

We read or hear about men, and some women, who suffer heart attacks while shoveling snow.  While snowfall in the Treasure Valley is usually minimal, that hasn't been the case this year.  It looks like we could surpass the daily snowfall record of 13 inches set in 1985.

So you've worked all day and now you have to shovel your driveway and sidewalk.  Check out these safety tips from the Washington Post.

1. Make sure you're healthy enough to shovel, if you have any questions, check out the link above to another link that can help you.  Remember your health is more important than a clean driveway.

2. Avoid a heavy meal or drinking alcohol before shoveling.

3. Get out early and keep up with the snowfall.

4. Push don't lift.

5. Don't be afraid to ask others for help.
