Think Twice Before Checking Out the Crumbling Homes in the Foothills

It was just two days ago that a friend of mine told me she'd taken a look around the neighborhood where once beautiful homes are now crumbling in the Boise Foothills.

...and immediately I wondered "was that a good idea?" I mean, the homes on Alto Via Court near Table Rock look even worse for the wear after a brutal Treasure Valley water.  The sidewalks are warped, walls are caving into each other and there's gigantic cracks all over the homes. At this time last May, the homes were shifting about two inches per week but really started to crumble under the weight of the unusual amount of snowfall. The street has been closed for quite sometime and was labeled a landslide risk.  That's why I'm surprised my friend was even able to get close to the homes.

Turns out she wasn't the only one that wanted to see them up close and personal. According to Channel 2, two adult males were arrested over the weekend for trespassing through the homes. Witnesses told police that four men trespassing through the homes.  Two adults and two juveniles. The juveniles were released, but the adult men both face misdemeanor trespassing charges and one of them is facing an additional charge of public intoxication.

Police continue to warn people to stay away from the homes because they aren't structurally sound.  You also could face trespassing charges for being on private property.
