Two New Meridian WinCo Stores to Open as One Location Closes

Do you love Idaho Based WinCo stores, but wish one was closer to you? If you live in Meridian we have good news and bad news as two new stores will open and as they open one Meridian location will close.

Two new stores are coming to Meridian - one planned for Overland Road and the other is planned for the intersection of Linder and Chinden. That's the good news for fans of Winco...the bad news...once the new locations open, the WinCo store on Meridian Road. will close.

The Overland Road location received approval on January 4 at a meeting of the Meridian Zoning and Planning Commission and now seeks approval by the City Council on February 6. The 18.75 acre development is planned to begin construction near Majestic Cinemas soon with the WinCo store taking up a large 13 acres of the site. The remaining land will be divided into 6 other lots, though their use has not yet been determined.

The proposed store on Linder and Chinden is still awaiting approval and will be part of the larger Linder Village development.
