The Idaho Department of Labor announced Idaho’s unemployment rate dropped to 4.1 percent last month, which is the lowest rate in more than six years and the largest one-month change on record.
The state’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped four-tenths of a percentage point from September as total employment rose 1,200 to a record 742,400.
Idaho’s participation rate, however, dropped to 63.1 percent, which is the lowest level since July 1976. That decrease in the share of the working-age population with jobs or looking for jobs reflects retirements and a slowdown in economic activity, according to the department of Labor.
