Vote Early with “Food Truck Voting” in Ada County
Have you heard of "Food Truck Voting"? It's a concept that was born back in 2016 before the presidential election. According to Boise Weekly, that's when Ada County Chief Deputy Clerk Phil McGrane, shared plans to roll out a mobile voting unit in Ada County to encourage early voting.
Since then, their "food truck" that encourages voting has been to many satellite sites throughout the county to provide voters with a convenient, and easy way to get their voices heard. This election season, the truck is back at it. Yesterday, it made a stop at the Garden City library where people waited up to an hour and a half to check "vote"off their to-do list. Voter, Mark Roby told KTVB, that the long wait, "[it] was worth it and encouraged others to take advantage of the mobile voting trailer."
