Over the last year, we've seen Downtown Boise continue to develop with new hotels, renovated public space, and soon, a downtown parking lot could become an urban park.

I was reading the Idaho Statesman this morning, and saw the article that shares the concept of a parking lot across from Boise Plaza becoming a new park.

That makes perfect sense to me.  One of the biggest benefits Io our area when I was first moving to the Treasure Valley was our incredible park system.  We have great parks throughout Boise, Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell.  Yet in the true Downtown Boise core, we could use a little more space (in addition to Capitol Park).

Boise Parks and Recreation is currently discussing the concept with property owners and the current lease holders of the property on West Bannock.  The park would be on the north side of the property between 11th and 12th street.

The developers of Boise Plaza are reportedly in support of the park concept too.  An agreement could be reached before the end of the year.
