Tamara Simon, M.D., M.P.H., F.A.C.O.G

Tamara Simon, MD, opened her practice December 1, 2003 as the first OBGYN in Eagle, Idaho. However, due to her large menopausal population, Dr. Simon no longer sees OB patients.

Born in Eastern Idaho and raised in Boise, Dr. Simon attended Borah High School. She was widowed when her husband, a professional skier, died in a tragic accident.

She looked to her family to regroup and enrolled at Boise State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in 1989 while raising her young son, Adam. It was there that she met her mentor, Dr. Russell Centanni, who encouraged her to further her education.

Dr. Simon was accepted to the University of California, Berkeley. There she earned her Master’s in Public Health Degree. She worked as an AIDS consultant under Dr. Donald Francis, former director of the Center for Disease Control’s AIDS program. Again, she was encouraged to continue her formal education. She attended Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA where she earned her Doctorate of Medicine in 1996. She completed her residency at St. Johns Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She served two years of Public Health Service in Glasgow, Montana, a population of approximately 3,000. Being the only OBGYN in a 400 mile radius, Dr. Simon carried a heavy caseload and valued the hands-on surgical experience she obtained.

Although Dr. Simon loved her patients in Glasgow, she wanted to be closer to her family in Idaho. Dr. Simon was one of eight children who lived in Boise.

Meanwhile, Adam married his high school sweetheart, Jenny, in 2006 in McCall, Idaho at Shore Lodge. Adam attended the University of Montana and obtained a degree in geology, which he put to “good” use by becoming a business owner that specializes in extreme skiing (like father like son) in Montana (www.yurtski.com). Adam just completed graduate school as an RT and plans to do life flight in the future. Adam and Jenny, still live in Missoula, and have two children Owen and Ella. Dr. Simon loves being “Nana”! (Obsessed actually.)

Dr. Simon and her patients love her staff, as they are all passionate about changing the lives of menopausal women. Dr. Simon has attended Anti-Aging Medicine Conferences globally. She was also a featured speaker at the Suzanne Somers conference: “Health Aging in the 21st Century” held in Salt Lake City, Utah, and in October 2011. She visited South Korea to celebrate the opening of the Chaum Center, an Age Management facility. This tour has brought new insight to her areas of expertise. Dr. Simon hopes to return to France next year to continue her education under Thierry Hertoghe, a world renowned fifth generation hormone specialist. She currently has treated over 30,000 menopausal women seeking treatment options in menopausal management therapies.

After opening Rocky Mountain Hormone Center in 2003, Dr. Simon decided to expand her field to encompass Smart liposuction. Dr. Simon received Smartlipo training from one of the leading experts in the nation and has since reopened LACI due to patient demand. She truly enjoys bringing out her artistic touch to give her patients beautiful natural-looking results. Dr. Simon has been treating women of all ages for over a decade and feels that “nobody knows a women’s body better than her gynecologist”.

Dr. Simon is a board certified OBGYN surgeon and is an Associate member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Gynecologists
