Not long ago, we shared the news with you that one of Boise's most popular airlines made a policy change that had customers fired up and angry.

That airline was Southwest Airlines, which controversially announced it's ending its "two bags fly free" policy on May 28th. And while this news isn't good for the paying customer, there is hope on the horizon.

Frontier Airlines Takes A Clever Jab At Southwest Airlines

We don't know about you, but many of us feel that businesses competing at a high level are great for the consumer. In this case, Frontier saw an opportunity to capitalize on the news surrounding Southwest's announcement and came up with a clever way to latch onto the controversy that could attract dissatisfied Southwest passengers.

As Yahoo Finance reported, Frontier Airlines announced that "all nonstop flights departing between March 18 and August 18 will receive a free carry-on bag, seat selection, and flight changes."

What's not to love about this? The higher-ups over at Frontier Airlines better reward whoever came up with this idea because it couldn't have come at a better time. Not only are you gaining national attention for kicking Southwest in the shin, but you're also potentially pulling in new long-term customers who could shift their loyalty to Frontier.

Is The Airline Industry Changing?

With Frontier looking to take advantage of Southwest's decision to end its popular bag policy, we have to wonder if others will follow suit. Depending on the results Frontier Airlines gets, we might start to see other airlines compete for our business... and that's always a good thing, right?
