Halloween might still be over a month away and Thanksgiving is probably an afterthought to most, but Nampa is already gearing up for Christmas.

Looking For The Perfect Tree

While some people debate as to whether or not mid-September is too early for Halloween decorations, the city of Nampa is getting ready for the most wonderful time of the year.

In a press release, city officials announced they are looking for the "official Christmas tree" for Nampa.

The City of Nampa Parks and Forestry Division is looking for the official Christmas tree for the upcoming holiday season. Residents willing to donate a 40-foot or taller pine or spruce tree to be the downtown Nampa Christmas tree for 2024 are encouraged to call 208-468-5890 by Friday, September 27.

That's quite the "tall order", huh? Jokes aside, we imagine that it would be a tremendous honor to have a tree you picked and donated being displayed in Nampa. Even better, Mayor Debbie King will be lighting the tree in a ceremony in November.

The tree will be removed and transported to the downtown Nampa area and decorated for the upcoming holiday season. Mayor Debbie Kling will officially light the city Christmas tree during the annual lighting celebration on Saturday, November 30, 2024 at 6 p.m. A brief history of the tree will also be presented.

The city will be looking at certain parameters and requirements during its selection process.
