RV Spotted Driving Dangerously Close to Twin Falls Canyon Rim
What Witnesses Say Happened Near Elevation 486
On the evening of December 15, 2025, witnesses say an RV was spotted driving on the Canyon Rim walking trail just outside Elevation 486 Restaurant in Twin Falls. And when I say ‘witnesses,’ I mean everyone eating and working that night saw it. So yeah, this happened. I also have a pic to prove it.
It was dark, so the witnesses I spoke to said they were not able to make out the license plate.
I was told the RV stopped at the scenic overlook by Elevation 486, above the Snake River Canyon, before driving away.
Even in winter, that part of the trail is busy with pedestrian and bike traffic. Luckily, it doesn't appear that anyone was injured. And there's a reason why vehicles aren't allowed here. Parts of the Canyon Rim Trail are dangerously close to the canyon wall, easily making it a risky drive, especially at night.
One person I spoke to said the RV exited by driving onto the grassy area between Elevation 486 and the Hub International buildings, tearing up sod in the process.
Our graphics department (aka, me) put together this sophisticated draft of the approximate path of departure.
How Did the RV End Up on the Walking Trail Outside Elevation 486
It is possible the driver made a wrong turn and ended up on the walking path by accident. The RV was heading west, so it is reasonable to assume it came from the east, possibly from the adjacent dirt lot. In any case, getting onto the trail would have taken some effort. No doubt, it would've been a bumpy ride.
If you know what happened or where it entered the trail, feel free to comment. I know you probably have pics if you were there, so feel free to post them.
