Animal Sighting: Baby Bear Takes a Little Field Trip Into Boise

Living in the Treasure Valley is often a cool, calm, and collected experience. Rarely are there major crimes, major drama, or safety issues. The pace of life here is unlike that of large cities and the scenery is unparalleled.

Yet every now and there, there's something just 'so Idaho' that we couldn't even make it up if we tried.

That is exactly what happened this week in Southeast Boise--and we're still wondering how on earth it came to be.

Reports of a bear sighting in Boise's Harris Ranch area have brought about some pretty adorable photos.

Maybe it was a large cat? Some sort of large raccoon creature?

Nope--it really was a bear and the pictures confirm it. Take a look!

After the bear was spotted being his adorable self, we really aren't sure what happened.

We do know that neighbors contacted local authorities to let them know about his presence--and these folks, particularly the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, are well trained on how to relocate the bears to the wilderness. Hopefully, mom wasn't too far away and he finds his way home!

While spotting a bear might be fun in the moment, you don't ever want to approach one, no matter the age or size. Your safety is important and they might look cuddly, but that won't be the case with humans!
