Dozens of Dogs Sent to Idaho for Adoption After California Fires
Spend any time in front of a television or social media, you're bound to see photos, video, and coverage of the devastating fires that have torn through California. The news has been devastating and the amount of rebuilding that needs to be done in California is unfathomable to most.
There were fatalities, thousands of homes totally damaged, folks fleeing or unable to get back into their residence for belongings or proper evacuations--and perhaps one of the most hear wrenching results of all of this? Pets--thousands of them--were left behind.
Many great non-profits that focus on animal safety and adoption are hard at work to help pets find their owner and in some unfortunate instances, this has proven impossible. Now, these organizations are forced to help find these displaced, adorable, and lovable dogs their next forever homes.
Some, will be looking for homes in Idaho.
The Idaho Humane Society, MCPAWS, and Mountain Humane are all hoping to assist by agreeing to accept dogs from California seeking forever homes.
Dogs displaced by fires aren't the only ones coming to Idaho--many of the dogs are coming to Idaho after already being in California shelters, which are now being used for various rescue and reunification efforts.
We're thankful that all of these dog-loving organizations are able to work together to help all involved--and find, hopefully, new homes for these dogs!
