Even if you make the sweetest, tastiest lemonade of all time, you'll eventually run into someone who doesn't like lemons. Fact of life, right?

We take pride in Boise being an area of kind, accepting people who care about their neighbors. Idaho as a whole, unfortunately, has some work to do when it comes to housing extreme hate groups in our state.

According to SPELCenter.org, Idaho is home to more hate groups (per capita) than most other states in the U.S. What makes them the experts? Per their website:

The SPLC is the premier U.S. non-profit organization monitoring the activities of domestic hate groups and other extremists – including the Ku Klux Klan, the neo-Nazi movement, neo-Confederatesracist skinheadsantigovernment militiasChristian Identity adherents and others.

We’re currently tracking more than 1,600 extremist groups operating across the country.

According to SPLC's research, Idaho is currently home to at least six extremist hate groups:

  • G416 Patriots
  • Independent History & Research
  • Lordship Church
  • Patriot Front
  • Proud Boys
  • The Brother Nathanael Foundation

These groups' sole reason for exisiting is hatred for other people strictly based on their background. Clearly, this is something we do not want in Idaho.

Let's try to be nicer to eachother, shall we? Maybe that'll show the hate groups in Idaho, and across the country, that the Gem State is a place of love, acceptance, and diversity. We don't want these hate groups representing the good people of Idaho.
