Live In Idaho? Here, Have 6 Months Of Birth Control For Free!
If you're an Idahoan who's made the decision to have sex, that's a good thing. Do what you want, don't hurt anybody, and be safe, right? Right!
And now, you can accomplish a lot of that for free for six months! If you live in Idaho, that is.
Idahoans can now receive up to a half year of prescription birth control as of January 1st, 2025.
How? A new law that was passed through Senate Bill 1234 (yes, that's the real name) requires insurance companies to comply with health plans and cover six months of prescription contraception.
According to Idaho Senate Minority Leader Melissa Wintrow, the new law will make it easier for women who are only able to access birth control in one- to three-month supply:
This policy represents a significant step forward in supporting Idahoans’ health, economic stability and autonomy at a time our draconian, conflicting reproductive rights laws have led to pregnant women being airlifted to Utah and more than 22% of our OBGYNs fleeing the state.
Will you be taking advantage of this new law passed January 1st?
