Last Saturday Night somewhere in America, former USC Defensive Coordinator Justin Wilcox was smiling.  Without Wilcox, perhaps the winningest quarterback in college football history might have been a Vandal or an Eastern Washington Eagle.  Those were the only teams that seemed interested in Kellen Moore when he was a senior at Prosser High.

The story, as detailed in the Idaho Statesman, has Wilcox offering up a defensive scholarship for to land Moore if Chris Petersen and Brian Harsin didn't see Moore's potential.  Thankfully Kellen became a Bronco and college football history was made.   Despite a record 50-3 as a Bronco, Moore was undrafted by the NFL.  He was signed as a free agent by the Detroit Lions and then released.  The Dallas Cowboys brought him in as a third string quarterback that wasn't expected to see the starting lineup.

Injuries to Tony Romo and the erratic play of Brandon Weeden and Matt Cassel have given Moore another opportunity of a lifetime.  The former Bronco was not alone Saturday Night.  The fans who he had inspired while in college took to social media proudly cheering on # 17.  The Cowboys may have lost. We all won seeing Kellen live his dream playing for the Cowboys.

He's the first Bronco Quarterback to play in the NFL.  Boise is over 1,600 miles from AT&T Stadium, but results were the same.  The Cowboys may have lost the game, but the entire state of Idaho was inspired by Kellen's play.  He represents not only the dreamer, but the achiever in all of us.  He's beaten the odds in college, and I wouldn't be surprised if he beats the odd in the NFL.  Now everyone all together now, 'HOW BOUT THEM COWBOYS?'
