Picabo Street Charged With Assault

Olympic gold medalist skier Picabo Street has been charged with assault and domestic violence stemming from a December altercation with a relative near Salt Lake City.

Summit County Sheriff Sgt. Ron Bridge says that Street is accused of pushing her father down a flight of stairs. The Idaho native was arrested on Dec. 23 after a physical altercation was reported at a house near Park City.

Street is charged with three misdemeanor counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child and one misdemeanor count of assault. A court record of a Dec. 28 hearing shows Street plans to plead not guilty. Street and her attorney didn't immediately respond to messages seeking comment.
