Boise Police Involved in Shooting

Police continue to investigate what started as a traffic stop on Peasley Street on the Boise bench, which ended in an officer-involved shooting.

Boise Police Deputy Chief Eugene Smith says the traffic stop happened just before midnight. Police say one man fled the vehicle, and after a short foot pursuit was shot by an officer.

The man in the shooting was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries. Smith says no officers were injured in the shooting.

What led to the shooting has not been discussed publically yet and there is an ongoing investigation, which is being led by the Critical Incident Task Force and the Idaho State Police.
