The Center for the Study of Market Alternatives (CSMA) invites you to attend the first event in its speaker series on September 15, 2015 at 7 p.m. in Harter Lecture Hall in the Helstrom Business Center. This event is free and open to the pubic.

The lecture will feature Larry Reed of the Foundation for Economic Education (FEE). He will discuss the liberty and character, the indispensable connection between the two. Lawrence W. (Larry) Reed became president of FEE in 2008 after serving as chairman of its board of trustees in the 1990s. He’s been writing and speaking for FEE since the late 1970s. Prior to becoming FEE’s president, he served for 20 years as president of the Mackinac Center for Public Policy in Midland, Michigan. In 1984, he was president of Boise-based foundation, CSMA working closely with Ralph Smeed.

A champion for liberty, Reed has authored over 1,000 newspaper columns and articles as well as dozens of articles in magazines and journals in the United States and abroad. His writings have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Christian Science Monitor, USA Today, Baltimore Sun, Detroit News and Detroit Free Press, among many others. He has authored or coauthored five books, the most recent ones being “A Republic—If We Can Keep It” and “Striking the Root: Essays on Liberty.”
