Family Advocates Guardian ad Litem/CASA Volunteers Needed!

For 36 years, Family Advocates has been working to ensure our community is full of strong families and safe kids. Family Advocates trains and deploys hard working volunteers each year to fulfill the demand of our child abuse and neglect prevention and intervention efforts throughout the ten counties of southwest Idaho.

Last year almost 4,000 families in the Treasure Valley were investigated for suspected child abuse or neglect. 1,100 Children were taken from their homes because a police officer believed it was unsafe to leave them behind for even a day longer.

The CASA Guardian ad Litem program provides child-protections courts with trained volunteers who advocate for children in foster care. Our volunteers advocate for the child by ensuring their voice is heard, they get the best possible outcome, and that they have somebody by their side letting them know they are cared for. These volunteers are the only people permitted by law to make sure the system is working as it should for each child in it.

If you are interested in making a difference in a child’s life please contact Family Advocates today! Guardian ad Litem trainings will be held monthly. Please email the Volunteer Recruiting and Training Director, Brad Talbutt at brad@strongandsafe.org or at 208-345-3344x1012
