Construction is growing rapidly in the Gem state as Idaho added 4,400 new construction jobs in the past year. The 12.4 percent increase is the fastest growing construction employment in the nation.
The Associated General Contractors of America reported the gains, based on an analysis of U.S. Department of Labor data.
Idaho is first followed by Washington, Michigan and New Jersey for largest employment increase in the construction sector.
However, when it came to sheer numbers, California added the largest number of jobs in the past year, at 42,600 — a 6.4 percent increase.
