A Nampa woman collapsed and died in her room at Chemawa Indian School on Sunday. The Marion County Sheriff’s Office identified her as Melissa Abell, 18.
The sheriff’s office said “there is nothing to suggest any foul play,” but the U.S. Attorney’s office has ordered an autopsy out of precaution.
Emergency personnel was called to Chemawa Indian School at 7:30 a.m. Sunday were unable to resuscitate the teen.
The sheriff’s office says it is working with the student’s family, the U.S. Attorney’s office and others to determine what caused the teen’s death. As of Monday, the autopsy was not yet complete.
