Idaho State Police have finished their investigation into the death of Brandon Rapp earlier this year in a shooting involving a sheriff's deputy.

Authorities say Rapp was killed by a deputy who was responding to a report of a domestic disturbance at a Middleton home on March 16.

The Canyon County Sheriff said that Rapp came out of the house carrying a pistol and the deputy, who is unidentified, asked him to lower the weapon before drawing his own service revolver and firing.

Officials have said that the deputy was wearing a body camera at the time of the shooting and that the video is part of the investigation.

ISP is turning over the results of the investigation to the Canyon County Prosecutor's Office to determine if any charges will be filed.

However, the prosecutor's office says they will turn over the investigation to another agency due to the conflict of interest involved.
