We read some of the weirdest and the most outdated laws.  It is interesting to think that these laws came from somewhere.  Someone had to have considered them a good idea at sometime.

For instance, in Salt Lake City, did you know it's illegal to walk down the street carrying a violin in a paper bag? Where did a law like that come from and what danger comes from carrying a violin in a paper bag?  Here are 5 more weird laws that for some reason Utah decided were necessary at some point:

1) NO GUNPOWDER TO REMEDY HEADACHES

Was this actually a thing?  And does it work?  I'll try anything when I have a migraine.

2) NO FISHING WHILE ON HORSEBACK

Get off the horse if you want to go fishing in Utah. (canva)

If I've said it once, I've said it a million times.  Leave your horse at home when you go fishing!

3) NO HIRING TROMBONE PLAYERS TO PLAY ON STREETS TO PROMOTE AN AUCTION.

If you're having an auction in Utah, you can't get horny. (canva)

I'm guessing every other instrument is considered okay.  I don't know why the trombone was singled out.

4) NO SNOWBALLS (This is just in Provo though).

Luckily ski resorts in Utah don't have this law.  So make sure you are near a ski resort if you want to throw a snowball.

5) NO DETONATING NUCLEAR WEAPONS

Sorry kids. No detonating nuclear weapons in Utah. Try Nevada. (Canva)

Aww shucks, this is what I was planning on doing this weekend! I definitely understand this being a law but wouldn't it be considered just common sense?
