While you may think you found the perfect hiding space for those items, your hiding spot may be more common than you think. They may be the first place a burglar checks while invading your home.
How Common is Burglary in California?
According to the most recent “Crime in California” report, there were 143,429 burglaries in the Golden State in 2022. That accounts for 15.9% of the state’s property crimes. While many of us picture burglary as a crime done under the cover of night, 36.2% of California burglaries were committed during daylight hours. 53,210 of the burglaries happened at residential addresses. In 2022, 16,833 felony burglary arrests were made.
How Common is Burglary in Idaho?
The latest “Crime in Idaho” report, shows that burglary accounts for about 9.8% of property crimes in the Gem State. In 2022, there were 3,183 burglaries reported and almost half of them took place at residential addresses. Idaho’s didn’t specify what time of day the crimes took place, but did reveal that money accounted for the most property loss during these crimes.
