The Perrine Bridge in Twin Falls is one of the few places in American where you can legally BASE jump off a public bridge and today one of those jumps turned tragic. Officials say a 32 year old man who parachuted off a bridge into the Snake River Canyon in in critical condition after his parachute didn't open properly.
Authorities say medical personnel responded at about noon on Monday to the canyon under Perrine Bridge.
The Twin Falls Sheriff's Office says friends and nearby kayakers pulled the man from the water and began resuscitation efforts.
Bryan Turner of Vancouver, B.C., was transported by Air St. Luke's to St. Luke's Magic Valley, where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. Turner was currently living in New York City.
