There may not be two shows more different than Sesame Street and Game of Thrones. One is set in a mystical world full of monsters and magic, with a diverse cast of characters so large and complicated they can be hard to keep straight. The other is Game of Thrones.

Still, they both air on HBO. And Sesame Street has a long legacy of pop cultural parodies that are right on the cusp of being age inappropriate. So while the target audience for Sesame Street has no idea what Game of Thrones is (at least I hope they don’t, God help all of us if they do), the parents of that target audience are pretty familiar with it, and they’ll probably get a big kick out of this meeting between Cersei, Tyrion, and Elmo of the House Sesame. Watch for yourself:

Yes, respect. It brings us all together. Now please, whatever you do, don’t explain the Lannisters to Elmo. Just don’t. I don’t need that nightmare keeping me awake at night.

The new season of Game of Thrones continues this Sunday on HBO. And the current season of Sesame Street is over there too. They’ve had some really ripping episodes lately; the one about New Year’s Eve was an absolute rager. You would not believe what Cookie Monster and Gonger did.
