Idahoans Need To Pull These 13 Things Out Of Their Hot Cars Right Now

A girl never forgets the first time she cooks a bottle of sunscreen in a hot car. 

Flashback to last summer...

Downloading my car, I was running later than a pregnant woman when I got distracted by my kid and the cold and frozen groceries I was scrambling to get to the fridge. 

And just like that, I spaced out and completely forgot about the bottle of sunscreen sitting in my backseat. Though I didn't know it then, to make future matters even worse, I also didn't crack a window or park in the shady part of my driveway. 

Grown-up tantrum in 3, 2, 1...

Fast-forward a few hours. I'm back in the car for a quick errand when I spot what looks like Paul Bunyan's load cooking my leather seats. In an instant, I cursed myself out of with a series of expletives like a sailor on leave and damned my generation's awareness of UV rays. 

In an effort to avoid skin cancer and looking like a shriveled prune in my golden years, I gifted myself the mother of all messes on a 104-degree day in Boise.  

Leaving sunscreen in a hot car is a hard lesson to learn, y'all. 

Now, you'd think I would've gotten my $#!t together after my hell-hot car warped my brand-new Tarjay sunglasses two weeks prior. But no. It took a 28-ounce plastic squeezy bottle of Banana Boat leaking all over my new car for it to sink in. Super, right?

And that, friend, is why on hot summer days, I do a quick sweep for sunscreen and the 12 other culprits waiting to wreak havoc on my hot car in the gallery below. 

I highly suggest all Idahoans do the same 🙃

When applying for car insurance, drivers disclose their vehicle make and model, as well as any citations, such as speeding tickets, they have on their driving record within the past seven years.
