Pineapple Listed as the Top Grilling Food in Idaho, Based on Data Trends
I was sent an email from a company that crunched the data on grilling habits across the United States. It seemed like it would be useful info with the 4th of July coming up, and every grill in the country will unite in igniting and cooking celebratory BBQ foods.
But I was surprised to see the top grilling food for Idaho. While Utah is cooking up carne asada, Wyoming is searing steaks, and California is smoking tri-tip, Idahoans are cooking pineapple.
You’re Going to Hate This: Idaho’s Top Grilling Food is Listed as Pineapple
Color me disappointed, and not because I hate pineapple. I love pineapple. A pineapple and pepperoni pizza is my favorite, and grilled pineapple on a teriyaki burger is an amazing combination. But to have standalone pineapple listed as the ‘most popular grilling food’ in Idaho seems wrong.
And it is.
Once I got into the methodology of the article from InnerBody, which used national search data trends, I realized Idaho was searching for ‘how to grill pineapple’ more than other grilling foods. That makes sense, because we already know how to cook a steak, burgers, and chicken, so fewer people were searching for that info online.
So, Why is Pineapple Listed as Idaho’s Top Grilling Food?
So what the study actually tells us is that you will definitely have grilled meats at whatever BBQ you attend this year, but there’s also a really good chance there will also be grilled pineapple. And we’ll take that over any type of tofu.
