Boise Weather

Turns out, this summer has been so hot that one of our cities here in Idaho was named one of the best in the country for pool parties. If you've taken a step outside this summer, you'll know that has to be a fact.

We experience springs, summer, fall and winter, but any real Idahoan knows that we actually have 12 seasons.

It's hot, really hot. Extra hot. Boise is no stranger to hot summer days but if it feels like a little more than normal, your not alone. In fact if this weekend gets as hot as expected the area will beat an 88 year summer heat record.

Boise was named one of the best cities for year-round weather in the country! Boise! You go, Idaho! It's not the only local city to be named, though. Other cities in Washington, California, and Utah made the list, too!

This extremely hot weather holds many implications for Idahoans.

A typical Idaho June usually involves a heatwave; however, as we all know, Idaho's June weather has hardly been typical. The state felt a nice amount of rain in May, and it looks like those conditions will continue this weekend. For many of Boise’s newest residents, one of the biggest appeals of living here is that the city gets to experience all four seasons.

This is the second straight fall, winter and spring that has not provided as much water as usual. The consequences could mean massive droughts, terrible and incontrollable wildfires, low river and lake levels, low crops, water restrictions and more.

I live in Meridian and have been looking forward to sledding and snowman making in my neighborhood like last year but so far have only had a short couple of weeks here and there with any snow on the ground. I was cleaning out some old photos on my phone and cam across these snow pics from my property in Meridian last February.
