Local Man Indicted For 1992 Murder And Rape Of Franklin Co Resident
It sounds like a Primetime movie but the sad news is it's real.
32-year-old murder mystery is solved
32 years ago the murder of a young woman left her family and friends without answers until now.
The body of Amy Hooper was found by her parents nude and face up, in March of 1992 at her Lincoln Village apartment in the 4900 block of Medfield Way, Ohio.
Investigators said her hands were loosely bound, and she was bludgeoned and stabbed to death.
Her parents discovered her body when they went to check on her after they couldn't reach her at work or home.
Investigators believed Hooper knew her attacker
Investigators said they believe she knew her attacker, but no one was charged for over 30 years.
A Franklin County Ohio, grand jury on Tuesday indicted Bruce Daniels, 57, of Tumwater, Washington, for murder and rape. His extradition hearing is set for January 8, 2025.
Deputies found the knife at the scene used in the killing. They also said they found a necklace that Amy's roommate said she had never seen before.
It's unclear what relationship the two had. Authorities at the time theorized that Hooper let her attacker in since there were no signs of forced entry at her apartment and no indication of a struggle.
Daniels was taken into custody on December 5 for a gun charge and was being held on a murder charge for Franklin County.

The Lacey Police Department, Thurston County Narcotics Task Force, and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office served a search warrant at his home, where they found the 9mm handgun according to court documents provided by the Thurston County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
